Bridgewater Housing Association is seeking a dedicated and proactive Project Surveyor to join our Property Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving our housing stock, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and energy efficiency for our tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out comprehensive stock condition surveys in line with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS), the Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH), and other relevant frameworks.
- Conduct energy assessments and produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) where required.
- Manage planned maintenance contracts, including overseeing contractors and providing Clerk of Works duties across maintenance and development projects.
- Work closely with the Property Services Manager to ensure stock is well-maintained and that expenditure aligns with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and instruct necessary repairs and liaise with housing colleagues about any tenancy or vulnerability issues identified during site visits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date written and photographic records of surveys and update the housing asset management system with findings.
- Support the team in developing and delivering programmes for EESSH compliance and other planned improvements.
- Attend and contribute to regular team meetings, ensuring excellent communication across departments.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of housing legislation, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in stock surveying, ideally within social housing or a similar sector.
- Ability to manage workload and diaries independently while working effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent record-keeping, reporting, and IT skills, including use of asset management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with contractors, tenants, and internal colleagues.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry best practices and regulations.

The Role
We are looking for a self-motivated, competent Small Repair Worker to work within our Care & Repair Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to work within a vibrant, modern, working environment with the chance to put your stamp on the role. The successful candidate will work with the Team and stakeholders, to deliver a high-quality small repairs service to clients that self-refer to our service, or are referred by our external partners (Fire Brigade, HSCP, Local Authority). The Small Repair Worker will work closely alongside the Project Assistants, Project Manager and colleagues to be a key figure in helping the organisation achieve strategic and contract objectives related to the service.
The ideal candidate will have trade experience (Joinery, Electrical or Plumbing), will be able to manage their time to ensure maximum service delivery to our clients.
Please note that this role will require you to work independently of the team. Small Repairs Workers attend the office monthly for team /one to one meetings, as scheduled by the Project Manager. The role is primarily based in Renfrewshire, however the successful candidate will be required to assist with Small Repairs work in East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde from time to time.
The successful candidate will:
· Be time served in a technical discipline (Joinery/Electrical/Plumbing).
· Be motivated and inspire team members to achieve excellent results and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines.
· Have excellent, effective communication and people skills with a positive outlook and commitment to our customers.
· Show initiative and take ownership of tasks and will use initiative to make decisions.
· Have competent IT Skills.
· Proven track record of delivering positive outcomes within a Repairs and Maintenance environment.
